London Clubs  be put up for sale after merger
talks between Rank Group and Gala Coral collapsed last
week.
The two gaming giants had been in talks for months about
Rank buying Gala’s 24 casinos in a proposed £250 million
deal, but failed to agree  on price.
Now London Clubs, which is owned by American casino
operator Caesars Entertainment and which owns the Empire
Casino in London’s Leicester Square, is understood to have
appointed investment bank Goldman Sachs to advise on a
possible sale.
The company owns 13 casinos, including the recently
launched Playboy casino. Both Rank and Genting,

Britain’s biggest casino operator, are understood to be  taking an interest. London Clubs was unavailable for comment.
