Casino venues could be changing hands in London

London Clubs International may be putting two of its casinos up for sale, according to a report.

Two of London's gambling venues may be about to change hands, according to the latest business speculation.

Gaming operator London Clubs International (LCI) recently closed its Fifty venue and is now thought to be considering the sale of The Casino at The Empire in Leicester Square, the Times reports.

The newspaper reveals that "one or two overseas gaming groups" are interested in the casino, which recently hosted the World Series of Poker Europe event, as a "possible entry into the London market".

Meanwhile, rumours continue to circulate about the future of Fifty, which is currently owned as a joint venture between LCI and Planet Hollywood founder Robert Earl.

According to the publication, Russian businessman Timori Kartchava has emerged as a potential buyer and could acquire the exclusive gambling club for less than £10 million.

Located on St James Street, Fifty first opened in 1827 and counts the Duke of Wellington, Benjamin Disraeli and French nobleman Count d'Orsay among its former patrons.
